i guys,
all through the summer i've had problems with my engine staying running when i start in in the morn or if i've parked up for a couple of hours....it starts no trouble at all then starts spluttering and juddering pretty badly, even to the point where it cuts out.i've also got a alot of black smoke when it starts....once it's been running for 10-15 mins it's ok......i understand it a little more if it had been winter but this was happening on the warmest of days......any suggestions or even better how to solve this.....thanks again... :?

pretty sure it's not glow plugs as it starts no problem at all, plus i fitted brand new plugs back in march.....once it's started it just doesn't tick over...just splutters and cuts out...once the engine is warm it's fine...cheers

When starting from cold, try listening for the 'click' from totally cold its about a count of 18 after heater light goes out.

Check the voltage at the glow plug rail,it should stay on for about 15 secs/to 3 mins according to the engine temp.

Hi the clicking sound only means that the relay has been energised,it does not mean that it is working properly ie passing current.
Check voltage from start at glow plug rail with engine running.
