what gearbox oil ?

just given my bongo a service before winter sets in and have noticed the gearbox oil and diff oil is a bit low, does anybody know what oil goes in, and how much, and are they the same? i have an N reg 4x4

Have you checked the gearbox oil with the engine well warmed up & running, brakes on, range through the gears slowly & then take a dip in D? No good dipping it cold.
Auto gearbox oil is DIII, the same as steering fluid, Diff oil is hypoid gear oil sae 90 (GL-5) for a standard diff or slipless gear oil sae90 (GL-6) if it's got a Limited Slip Diff (LSD)

didnt know that about the gearbox oil. so will check that. think i might just change the oil in both anway. how do i know what type of diff its got?

Plus there's no dipstick on a manual :wink: Or D :D
