Where do I find a second-hand Turbo?

Just been told by the garage that my Turbo is bust.... So what should I do?

I guess I need the serial number of the old Turbo - but where is the Turbo actually located - and where is the serial number on it...

I was quoted a terrifying price to get a new Turbo from Mazda - so hopefully I can get it repaired or a second hand one.

Thanks so much

Try a Bongo breaker. Depending on where you are in the world, there are a few options, lots of them advertising on this site. Bell Hill near Bath have been helpfull to me in the past as have BongoBits (AKA Japtec).

Do you know how the mechanic concluded that the turbo is not working? My understanding is that broken turbos are a fairly rare event on bongos.

I've got an engine in the garage that I bought for spares. As far as I know, the turbo is in good working order. Drop me a pm Timbo & also let me know where you are. I'd be happy to let you try it to see if it solves the problem before you commit to buying it, just in case it's not the problem. Has the mechanic told you what the problem is with yours?
