Hi - This is my first post on this website.

Can someone please tell me the purpose of hold button on the AWD with autobox and what it actually does. I assumed it was some sort of central diff lock but that is not the case Im told.

It drops the box to a lower gear for overtaking etc,and it will hold that gear.

Also,if you are on a muddy field, select L and press HOLD,the Bongo will then drive off in second gear, instead of first, to help reduce wheelspin.

And welcome to the forum

If you purchase an owners handbook from the club shop you will find in it a full explanation of how the autobox and gears work.

Thanks chaps.
Updating my profile with location (Tamworth, Staffs) and having a look at the owners manual.

Wife and I have had a bit of a "mid life crisis" , youngest now at 2nd year at Uni and the nest is empty. Work is ever more frustrating and we feel the need to get away more at weekends with the dog for hill walking and such like. Saw an old friend recently who had acquired a bongo and we said "yes thats what we want to do ". So we have been and seen a Bongo which we like and have set the purchasing ball rolling.

We used to do alot of caravanning when the kids were smaller so we can do the "campervan" thing OK.
