Bongo Fury

We bought our Bongo a year ago exactly. Shortly after we bought it it started with the heavy clonking sounds at the front and we had to replace anti roll bars/drop links/bushes whatever you call all that stuff! lol

Anyway, we bought them from Ebay, can't remember the seller but not a bad price.

They have lasted less than a year!!! They need doing again, the clonking is worse than ever and I'm really annoyed about it.

Where should I buy the parts from? Can anyone tell me a trusted quality seller please?

Hi Katherin, i think you are probably referring to the droplinks... This is a common occurence with droplinks sourced from e-bay unfortunately... Unlike a proper motor factors, quality issues seem to be a bit lapse on there (it's not like you can take em back and shout at the bloke on the counter like you could at a "real" shop) Have you tried the club shop for some? Failing that, the first place i can think of is bongobits.

It would appear the club shop ones are just pattern parts which is obviously what we bought off ebay. So I'm loath to pay out for those again tbh. Unless someone can guarantee me they will last of course.

The Bongobits ones are genuine but obviously more expensive. However, I would rather buy those if they are going to last. Otherwise its £50 or so a year on pattern ones which is silly!

Hi Kath... i suppose it's a case of pays your money, takes your choice... I used the so-called "heavy duty" droplinks via e-bay..no probs with em YET! but i'm not holding my breath...

How long ago did you fit them?

I bought mine exactly a year ago from Japenese Auto Solutions on ebay. I've emailed him but I serioulsy doubt to get any sympathy at all. lol. I shan't buy them from him again thats for sure.

Don't know if they'd be any better

My Vectra ones have been on for over 18 months now and no problems. I'd still be suspicious about heavy duty ones on ebay as its easy to make cheap patterns with heavier bars but the same rubbish bushes (which are the real issue in wear as opposed to failure).

When you had yours done muddypaws, did they put new u-clamps on the antiroll bar bushes as a few of us have replaced bushes only to find the metal clamp failing with fatigue (and the bush then dropping out) a short while later. Worth having a peek underneath to see whats going on

I just got a full set of anti-roll bar parts from the Bongo Shop. All parts are original Mazda and in their original packaging. I've got to think that they're reasonably good. So far so good.
