How much coolant

Winter is approaching and time to refresh the antifreeze.
Sorry folks, I have 'searched' (and in the fact sheets) but can't find the answer.
The question is, how much coolant will the system hold.
They say 50/50 water and antifreeze on the container, but 50% of what for the Bongo

I think if you have the rear heater it's 13 litres.

It's 13.5 litres, I put 5l itres of antifreeze in mine which gives somewhere between 30 & 40% concentration, which is all I've ever used. I think the 50% concentration is based on the coolant used in japan which is different to the uk stuff, see what the coolant you buy says about concentration. Make sure you're not mixing with any Jap coolant or incompatible stuff, always advisable to flush it thoroughly & obviously bleed it properly.

While you're about it, I reckon it'd make sense to replace the thermostat, seem to have been a few playing up recently & the older they get the slower they are to open. Not expensive or difficult to do & it's easier to flush the system with the stat out (just put the rubber gasket ring in from the old one), just don't forget to put it back in before you refill with coolant
