Hi guys,
I have white smoke when the van is cold started and a pooping sound coming from what seems like the enginebay and the van bounces while it pops.
Now looking through here i found that it was probably the glow plugs so i got a new set of ngk's only to find that when instlled everything is still the same........
im confused now and unsure what else it could be. Has anyone else had this issue?

Is it with winter pack ie switch with a engine on it lower left of the stearing wheel? if it has and it's upward (pushed in) it's on and your reheating the engine and it will smoke, it will also drive very slowly and not go up the box

Try starting without the air filter if it's wet old and dirty that can also cause this prob DON't drive it tho' you could suck summat horrible into the engine

put a potato in the exhaust pipe, that way there wont be any smoke.
does the van run smooth after a while and once it has been running and warmed up does it do it again.
it could be the glowplug relay that is causing the problem. is there a dull clunk from the bonnet area when you turn the key after bout 10 seconds. if you can use a multimeter you can check if there is voltage getting to the glowplug rail.
there have been issues with fuel that has been put in causing smoke as i know too well.

nope, but i lost power a few weeks ago, going up a hill, foot flat to the floor barley moving.
got it to my mechanic, could figure it our, he put some perge stuff in my tank a revved the boXXXXs off it. but ever since then its been pooping on cold start, its ok any other time, only does it from cold starting in a morn. Im just concerned it wont start at all in the winter if it continues.

do you have 2 starting batteries under the bonnet?, if so then you will have a switch by your right knee with an engine on it turn it offf you may have switched it on by mistake.

i do have 2 batts but one a leisure so i dont think it has a winter pack.
would the relay, if for instance not putting enough charge through give me these problems?
