Lumpy starting

Hi all, I've just changed the glow plugs on my Bongo as starting was becoming a bit "lumpy". I've had the Bongo five years and new glow plugs have always sorted this problem. This time however, although she starts with no problems at all, it's still a bit "lumpy" after starting and not like it usually is after new glow plugs.

Question: will a battery that's failing (as I suspect mine is after 5 years of every day use - had to jump start her after 2 weeks away from home at the start of August) affect the "lumpiness" of the engine after starting even if the battery started the engine successfully?

Cheers

Can't see why it should affect the tickover. Could be a faulty glowplug, or try putting some injector cleaner in the fuel tank.
