HELP I am in real trouble now

As per my post earlier
http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... 93&start=0 (Link added by admin) . The AA man came out and he replaced the offending hose. I spent 40 mins bleeding and off I went. Got maybe 2 miles and now the hose on the front of the engine is split. Where can I get one of these right away? Is there another reason why these hoses are splitting? The AA man done a sniff test to see if the head gasket was gone but that was ok. I really am in big poo right now. (
Edited by admin to remove phone number as immediate emergency now over, although I'm sure Tony would still appreciate any input)
Do I admit defeat and go home and try to get it fixed or do I get the AA to relay me to Holyhead in the hope that someone can help in Dublin. Are there any bongo dealers in Ireland? Will they relay me to there also?
Tony

The hoses that most commonly fail are the bleed hose, the one above the starter and the top hose to the engine. As they age, they gradually perish until they give up completely. If you're lucky you will notice that they are swollen and softer than they should be, so you can replace them before they blow. But sometimes you don't get any warning. If your engine has not overheated and prematurley damaged the hoses, then they've probably reached the limit of their lifespan. Sorry, I don't know anything about garages in Ireland. If you need the hoses immediately, is there a Mazda main dealer near you? They may have them.

Thanks all. I think home and try the Mazda dealer in the morning.
If anyone has one and I can get hold of it tonight I will collect on my motorbike. I live in Harrow, north west of london.
tWas also my first time bleeding. Please reassure me I did it right.
Fill rad put on cap.
Fill header.
Fill funnel till water comes out header put on cap.
Run engine at 3k with odd blips thrown in
keep topping up and throttling till bottom hose gets hot and lets out last of air. Took about 30 or 40 mins.

That's only necessary to check they're getting flow, if you leave them on it takes a lot longer to get it up to temp. Sounds like it's been bled right.
pm sent Tony as per phone call

both heaters set to full yes. Spirit sapping now. Would theAA's hoses do the job in this case or would I need a shaped one?

The flexi hose jobs should be fine, pretty sure a few people have used them, had a look at one (Haydn at the bash?) seems chunkier than I thought, as long as it can flex to fit without creating too much stress on any point.

AA don't want to replace other hose as there must be another problem causing it. I will replace the stat but how would I know if there were a blockage or the water pump is knackered? A blockage could well be a possibility as the water in there was mingin.

Back home now spirit sapped. Totally dejected. Going to the pub. Thanks for the help all i really appreciate it and owe you all a drink, especially Kirsty, pm'd yer man and on ebay too, Thanks for the call, i really needed a friendly voice just at that point.
Anyone want to kindly let me know how to check for a blockage or faulty water pump? I am guessing this may not be the case though as the bleeding process surely would not have worked if that was the case.

No worries Tony, not that I could do a lot
As for checking the water pump, I suppose once its cold, make sure it's full of water & see if water squirts out of your duff hose?
Make sure you buy a lottery ticket tomorrow, if it wins I want half

Oh yeah. One last thing. Where is the stat located and if I go to local motor factors before removing the old one what do I need.

Stat's under the passy seat part 15171 on the diagram below, undo the bolt that holds the dipstick & push it to one side for better access to the bolts, you have to get at it from underneath, bit fiddly if you got 4wd, but doesn't take long. Instructions in Members area factsheets if you need em.

I was assuming that's where he stuck the funnel? therefore the bung'd be out, bear in mind he was typing this at the roadside
