Bongo Fury

at the weekend my girlfriend noticed a black cap/disc under the acclerator pedal, with 'LOCK' written on it with an arrow indicating which way to turn it to lock whatever it locks. currently it is in the 'LOCK' position.

hadnt noticed it before and now its niggling at me as to what it is.

can anyone tell me what it is for and whether it should be in the 'LOCK' or 'UNLOCK' position.

too late i turned it to the 'UNLOCK' position, curiosity got the better of me at the weekend. nothing happened, should something have happened lol
