Winter Pack Valve Stuck On - Help!

Hi all,

I stupidly 'tested' the winter pack valve - now it's stuck on! Running like a bag of spanners and averaging 16mpg :(
I need to know how to turn it off / disable it - but I'm clueless. The switch now doesn't work.

Any advice would be very gratefully recieved.

Thanks

Egr is NOT the cold start/winter pack valve - completely different gubbins
Egr redirects some of the exhuast gas from the turbo back into the inlet manifold, operates automatically, fitted to all diesel bongos.
Winter pack valve shuts a valve in the exhaust, helping the engine warm up quicker in cold climates, operated by a switch by your right knee on the dash with a picture of an engine on, only fitted to Bongos from the North of Japan subjected to extreme cold, in cojunction with twin starting batteries.

EGR is nothing to do with the winter pack as such, other than they are both associated with the exhaust.

I think the winter pack valve is in the front part of the exhaust right after the manifold joint - see if there is any sort of operating arm you can get a grip on and free it off.

Not sure if this helps at all http://www.lushprojects.com/bongopartsm ... mgno=.html - looks like a bit of the spindle should be accesible, may be able to get a spanner/mole grip/pipe wrench on it? Maybe while someone operates the switch - just watch it doesn't rotate the wrong way & crush your fingers
Once it's opened [-o< Disconnect the switch
