Hi there,

Could be many things. Is it road or engine speed related, by that does it change with the engine revs or just the speed the car is going, no matter what the engine RPM is?

If it's road speed then you need to look at wheel bearings, diff, tyres, brakes binding etc. If engine speed then check the belts, alternator or water pump and the like.

Sorry but it's hard to give a specific answer as there are many things that could be at fault. Matter of elimination.

I've experienced a whining noise that starts around 8a.m., and seems to come and go intermittently until about 11p.m.

I'll get my coat.....

Is it something as simple as mine was, the passenger window not fully closed or... do you take the missus with you in the bongo..

I make my missus sit in the back, still get the whining noise, but not so annoying.

Seriously when I had this problem I found the tyres were worn unevenly making a whirring sound.
