paint codes.my bongo should be silent silver.....but isn`t

Post by hogggman » Sun Jun 14, 2009 9:25 pm

hi,
i am currently in the middle of tidying the paintwork on my bongo in readiness for new decals.the plate on my bongo states`chaste white over silent silver`.
so i purchased the chaste white.spot on.
then i purchased the silent silver.nowhere near.it is way too dark compared to what i have.it does, however, seem to match the darker part of my tailgate(see pic below)and the lighter part of the tailgate is the same as everywhere else,so if anyone can identify it from a pic,not easy i know,i`d be very grateful.i have heard about silver stone,so if anyone knows that is lighter than silent silver,i`ll give it a go,as halfords can mix that up.

Hoggman, I have had trouble with Halfords paints not matching before on a Vectra. I have found the best thing to do is use a motor factors that will match your paint to colour swatches (will take into account fading and non standard colours) and then make some spray cans up. I used to use someone not far from you but dont think that they are there any more, It was Peter Northeast, I know there is a company in Sutton that do it.
smoke me a kipper i'll be back for breakfast
