Bongo Fury

I have just noticed today that when i shut the blinds using the switches near the steering wheel, the motor on the passenger side stops when the blinds are fully down. The motor on the drivers side keeps going when the blind is fully down. Is there a switch that detects when it is down/ if so where will i find it?

you mean when the blind is shut the motor keeps whinning?, if so then check the switch itself, possible loose wire behind the switch or dry maybe , try unpluging it at the back and swap with the other one see if it still does it tony

Interestingly the diagrams don't show any limit switches so it might be that they just stall, I had noticed that they don't stop at a given point but buzz for a second when they hit an obstacle and then stop.

If I get a chance I'll measure the current and see if they do stall or just what happens.

Is it easy enough to get the switch out?
BTW the motor only keeps running because i keep my finger on the switch. Easy solution would be not to keep my finger on the switch but what happens if it is fouled or the boy starts playing with it?

ah mine does stop once the blind has shut, so deffinatly not right, try checking the runners there may be something trapped or fouling the blind stopping it reach the "cut off point/switch

worst case is that olliver may put his finger on the button and leave it there untill the battery flattens , dont think he could harm himself or anything like that.

Lovely thought alas physics dictates that a kite will only work with the wind on your back. You will however be able to fill a quarter sphere. With the wind behind me and the camera right in front of me I could try to chase where the camera points. We will get 180 degrees from left to right and 90 degrees from ground to right above. If the wind is there then we can try it.

OK so we start flying whe the wind is in one direction and you keep flying until he wind has veered 180 degrees The you call me back
Otherwise we might have to rely on PhotoShop to change the wind direction .....

Getting back on topic, checked our Blinds today and pretty certain that the motors have a stall detector, which basically detects the high current of a stall and then opens a contact to save the motor but it doesn't release again until the voltage has dropped to zero,I suspect the circuit will be something like this but built into the motor rather than a separate item;

They should cut out when they hit the bottom.. ( or when fully retracted.)
I've had a ruck sack foul the drivers side rear blind before now & the motor still cut out as if it had fully closed.. When i moved the bag out the way & pressed the button the the blind closed.

Have you checked the single switches in the back to ascertain which blind is at fault regarding the cut out..?

Nope but i will give that a go tomorrow.
I will also try stalling one half way. I am hoping this will detect if it is a problem with the stall detector mechanism or the cut off switch if there is one.
