Mazda Kitchen (Cube) problem! Can you please help?

My Cube leisure battery (9 months old 85amp/hr) is not charging and the illuminated reset button will not reset! BellHill garage tell me this button fails for a passtime and I will be lucky to find a replacement. I hope they are wrong. 
All the bits of the kitchen work if I hold the reset button in, the charger controller red light comes on with ignition, but presumably this reset button is holding the charger off.
The Cube seems a nice bit of kit and I would be gutted if I had to scrap it for the sake of a little red button.
Can anyone out there please HELP?
I realise from my searches that problems with the Mazda kitchen are old hat for you long servers, but as a new boy to the forum please be gentle!!
