Gonna have to change the glow plugs, cleaned em up but still slow starting, went to the shed to get the details of the boxes of the last set I bought and mice have eaten the boxes, the little gits and I cannot remember if they were 83 or 102, has anyone recently changed theirs on a 96 P reg. I did put info on the compatability section but even tho I have searched I cannot find any thing on it, think I must be having a "blonde" day, lol. Thanks in advance for the expert knowledge soon (I hope) to be coming my way, lol.

You can fit the 83mm anyway :D
Either use spacers to raise the glowplug rail or, as I did, bend the fuel pipes down slightly.

And make jolly sure the glowplug rail isn't shorting to any metal it shouldn't be, as that's caught more than one person out in the past from posts I've read (though never having tackled the job, I don't know!)

Oh and I write all these numbers on the inside cover of the handbook too, saves messing about searching.
20 seconds doing a search on "Glow and plugs" with you as author

Yea I know must be the oil that's doing em in, but funny thing the fuel filter which I am ashamed to say looked like the original was in perfect condition whereas the pkugs looked really old but were about 18 months old if that.
