What are these????

Good afternoon, spent the last week slowly working through engine, removing bits to eventually remove our Bongo's cylinder head (needs new head or maybe just a gasket). Working out what I need to order before I start putting it all back. So that I have all the bits ready to go.

Firstly, some of the black pipes on the drivers side of the head, (I think they are fuel pipes, with what I believe is 3 to 3.5mm inner diameter in the tube. Can't find them on any bongo website. Can I buy a meter's worth of the tube or do I have to buy specific precut bits. Picture below..

Secondly does anyone know what these are called? There are 4 of them, each one with a little coloured marker on,
BLUE, YELLOW, RED AND BLACK. Its the little plastic pump like thing in the middle of the picture. One has a broken tube on it, either need to replace or possibly superglue the tube on?? depending on cost. They were seated on metal plate on top of manifold and head on drivers side. pic below???

Also....have a broken 'Mazda Bongo Water Temp. Switch/Sensor' its the two pin variety and on bongo bits costs a hefty £43.45

Any ideas on if there are cheaper ones out there??????? Trying to keep costs of fixing the bongo down, hence doing the work myself.

Thankyou for any help
Cheers Jon

I think you will find those black tubes are Vacuum pipes and you should be able to buy a length. Try ebay/google search vacuum tubing.

Thanks for that....that would explain why I could'nt find any 3mm fuel hose.

The ones on Ebay are all silicon made, is that the same stuff, I don't want it getting to warm and melting, or going to soft.

Any clue on the small black plastic pump looking thing...

I think silicone would be fine - it's highly temperature resistant and hard wearing. Some people choose to replace the cooling system hoses with silcone versions for example.

cheers....will place order for a metre or two of that in a bit.

Narrowed down the other thing, thanks to your comment. Searched for 'vacuum pump', which came up with a result on google for

http://www.lushprojects.com/bongopartsm ... 03.html#15

which has a useful diagram on, narrowed the thing down to 18741C which is a 'VALVE SOLENOID'.

Still cant' find it for sale any where....the hunt continues.

Many many thanks..

Jon

You need vacuum hose that is rigid enough not to collapse when there is a vacuum inside.

ok...I've ordered some off of ebay..... 3.2mm inside with 2mm thick silicon rubber on outside.

hopefully it will do the job.

Otherwise I have found some 3mm fuel hose....thats is black rubber...
