Rear Light Cluster Replacement

Bashed the drivers side rear cluster on the way back from the Scottish Bongo Bash

Image

Have down loaded the Fact Sheet for bulb replacement but would like some tips to access and change out the whole cluster if someone has done this before. I imagine I'll have to remove the inside panel - is the first job to remove the rear seat belt bolts and then do I just lever the panel off? I couldn't see poppers like those on the rear door..........

All guidance much appreciated.

Ouch. I 'searched' and found Kirsty had written up THIS advice on replacing the rear light cluster.

Thanks Doone, That was quick - your message must have crossed with my last one. I did a search before posting and didn't pick up on MissFixit's but that confirms what I found.

A tiny word of advice.
The last two times I've had to change mine, I've "thumped them out" a little too firmly & snapped a lug holding the unit in.

Gently gently is the way.

secret is to push the light cluster outwards to remove.....if you just bash it backwards it will bust the lugs... As in the link to Kirstys post above>

Haydn,

Thanks for chiming in - I have Kirsty's advice in mind and am just awaiting the new cluster to arrive before I dig out the screw driver.

Cheers.
