As long as it's empty when you lift the roof.

Hello and welcome to the forum
based on what others have said on here, you should be fine for fitting pretty much any size roof box - thing is, the roof will only go up when the box is empty...and even then you may have to give it a little manual pushing up help too.

We would not advise fitting a roof box that is over 400 litres, and certainly not one that comes further forward than the skylight in the roof. This is because of "uplift" caused by turbulence, lifting the box up, and pulling the roof rail brackets out.
We have had 2 reported instances of this, both times with very large (600 litre +) boxes.

Geoff, the best way I found was to use a small box trailer and fit the roof bars and top box on top of that, saves all the potch of climbing up and down the bongo and is far more aerodynamic and fuel efficient.
