diesels have cam belts dont they?

Greetings all at the risk of sounding a total twat diesel bongos have cam(timing belts) do they not?
Im chasing one at the mo and the owner thinks they dont have them, reckons they have chains instead #-o
I hold my hands up if im being a cabbage

Unless he's had the engine out of something else installed, it will have the normal timing belt we all know & love :wink:

It is unusual(ish) in that the injector pump is driven by gears from the crank which then drives the camshaft via a belt

Hi, i"am pretty sure that the injector pump is chain driven from the crank, but the cam shaft IS belt driven. :) .

It's gears not a chain - I've been put right on this by "HWKWHTA" before
