Cam Belt Pulley Wobble After Head Change - Heeeeeeelllllp!

Hi folks,
Pulling my rapidly greying hair out here. Having just put a new complete head on my bongo it`s fired up ok but the camshaft pulley wobbles out of true and this appears to originate from the centre. We checked the pulley for buckle with a DTI and there isn`t much play and we`ve torqued it on pretty damn tight and it seems to seat ok so we suspect that the camshaft mating face isn`t true. I`m currently dealing with the supplier over this matter but does anyone have any advice please?
It runs ok but we are concerned that the pulley wobble will cause premature wear.

To anyone who may be remotely interested in my plight, despite getting a ready to fit head it seems that the end of the cam that abutts the pulley was machined with a ten thou discrepancy acorss the face hence the wobble. New `new` cam fitted and problemo gone!
Moral of this trust your instinct.

I need to get a new head and was thinking about one with recon cams etc fitted.
Where should I go to Or not.

Good to hear you've sorted it Rob - now I'd be worried as to what else is wroung with the inferior copy...........

Hi chaps,
Touch wood all seems ok apart from noisy tappets which I`m trying to get to the bottom of. The guys who supplied the head seemed amazed to get a duff cam but was good and prompt about replacing it. I got the head assembly from EBay for £400 including cam belt and gasket set (Although he forgot to add the cam belt). We used gasket goo around the water holes to be safe so no more header tank vomiting.
