Hi, a mate of mine is thinking of getting an SGL5 to tow his off road landrover around to competitions etc..
Has any one towed car trailers and how did it go.
he's looking at about 3 tonnes total.
cheers

No idea as I have never towed anything in my bongo. Perhaps Bongoplod could help you, he goes everywhere towing a huge caravan with his bongo.

3 tonne'd be too much safely I reckon,

Standard bongo is anything from @ 1700-1870kg from memory which is @ 1450 - 1590kg, you can tow up to 100% safely, but, you also have to take into consideration the max nose weight which is 85kg.

I believe the max towing weight is 1600kg, about 1 and a 1/2 ton.
I think a total weight of 3 ton for a Landy + trailer will be too much.

Hi
From my experience...definitely not...take a leaf out of the "Travellers" book...a large truck or van.
