the back box of the exhaust fell off on the way home today

seems to have snapped at te rear of the back box itself.
anyways what are peoples opinions on what to do next
a) stainless..... would be nice but sounds expensive, can i marry up a stainless rear section with the existing front ??
b) flexi pipe it for the time being
c) new mild steel jobbie. if so where's best (cheapest) to get one

Sorry to hear about the tail pipe, mine fell off in the isle of wight two weeks ago, i thought just replace the back box £170 fitted, apparently its the most expensive bit of the exhaust! but when we examined it, we discovered the whole exhaust needed replacing

total inc gaskets & fitting £375

hope you have better luck.

Just a couple of the many links on here for stainless exhausts, Prices are not much different for stainless then for mild steel etc.
Mine was from MIJ and they delivered, I then got a local mechanic to fit. That was cheaper than £375 as quoted above.

I got a stainless rear end. The rest is steel (standard). As and when she needs it, the rest will renewed in stainless. So yes it is possible to mix the two.

I got back box and gasket from bongobits in plymouth for £69 the week before last.
Seems good enough, do not know about postage though as I got FIL to pick it up for me.
Cheers

My back box fell off xmas time outside the old police station in Swansea, lots of sparks and noise
replacement from Iezura on ebay
Had new flexi middle exhaust and Back box delivered next day for £116 .
Town tyres in Llansamlet fitted it.
Excellent service from both.

Problem is, mating SS with MS may bring forward the renewal time considerably due to accelerated galvanic corrosion of the MS from being in contact with SS.
