Hello all,

I'm in the process of rebuilding the Bongo. Received my bumper from Dandywarhol yesterday ( =D> =D> ).

It's perfect at the moment, to get be MOT'd and back to the Bongoing, especially with the May holiday fast approaching! But at some point, i should think about painting it to match the rest.

How much paint will i need to spay the whole bumper?

I've done this job and d'ya know, I can't remember. I think I got about 500ml and that was way more than enough (but I doubt they'd mix up less for you) using a compressor and spray gun. You tin it 50/50 with suitable thinners so you'll need that too. Plus you'll need to 2-pack clear lacquer to go over it (and that is than with - from memory - 10% thinners). You'll also want a grey primer suitable for spraying onto plastic so it doesn't react with the cellulose type Silent Silver paint when it goes on. And you'll wanta proper (activated charcoal) breathing mask as its all bad for you but the 2-pack lacquer is especially dodgy as it contains cyanide.

I really enjoy jobs like this. Very satisfying to end up with a quality finish. Just make sure it's a warm windless day with no insects about unless you have a suitable workshop, which I don't.

Sorry if you know all this but best said twice than not at all. Enjoy :D
