I think I have seen a thread where something like this was used for coolant pipe flushing etc.
Edit----- No It was an oil change!

That looks like an identical design to the Pela pump I (and many others) have but it is only 4 litres instead of 6 litres. But at that excellent price I think I could live with having to empty it out half way through and oil change. An extractor pump is a very handy thing and makes engine oil changes a doddle. Well spotted

It does indeed look like a small version of my MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE Pela

But where are both pumps made? Could the Silverline pump be yet another cheap Chinese copy of the Pela pump which appears to be the gold standard for Bongo owners.

I fear you may have a point. If the plastic is cheap and brittle, it may break more readily than the Pela. Mind you at that price I think I'd probably have a punt as its not bank breaking £s

But the Pela is worth its price and the 6 litre capacity means you can just about take all the engine oil out in one go (once or twice I've not quite managed it, other times I have - why!?!?!)

anyone know off the top of their heads what grade atf i need for the gearbox (is it the same for power steering) and how much ill need?

Sorry, no idea - I've only topped mine up.

I got a Pela last Friday.....what a superb bit of kit....certainly impressed the neighbours....looks like many will be doing their own oil changes from now on..

Bought the Silverline pump last week. I decided to try it out pumping oil from a container and discovered there was no vacuum being created. I assume the pumping mechanism is at fault -it is a rather flimsy thing - so I'll be on the phone to them tomorrow. Also the plastic tube is too wide to go into my Freda's dipstick pipe. Ah well - I think I need a refund and then go for the Pela but I if I have to pay postage both ways on a faulty item i will feel agrieved.

Useful to have feedback on that pump - I was toying with getting one myself!

As for return (and original) postage, I may be wrong but I think that the seller legally has to cover it if the goods are faulty - a 'long-distance selling' rule.

Almost certainly they'll try and suggest you at least cover the original postage cost, but I'd check it out if I were you and you can tackle them on it. But do confirm this first!

Yep, that's what I understand as well - Distance Selling Regulations (or Rules)
