Bongo Fury

Hi everyone. i have a new shape bongo on V plate, the glow plug warning light has started to flash & it loses power. After a bit of investigation i've found what i think to be a solenoid switch on the n/s which is conected to a vac pipe, and then goes off to the turbo wastegate. If i connect the vac pipes together the warning light goes out. i have power down the red wire to the solenoid, the white with blue tracer wire dosn't appear to be an earth so must be a switch wire that i think goes to the throttle. my question is does this wire go through an ecu or is it wired straight through? sorry to go on thanks in advance for any ideas/advice.

yes I think the boost pressure solenoid is ran through the pcm,so it can regulate the boost.

Great thankyou. Now silly question, where do i find it & is there anything i can do with it or will i need to replace it?

sorry need a wiring diagramto see the route it takes ,so that the wire can be tested for continuity etc.also too see if it is ran through something else?

Just wanna share my experience. Last year i encountered the same problem on my Bongo as you have which is the glow plug warning flashing & loses power. I send to a mechanic a found out faulty solenoid as you mentioned. Since the mechanic don't have exactly the same solenoid so he replaced it to a used one from mitsubishi. Until now my bongo don't have the glow plug warning anymore. If you can't find the exact one from your Bongo my advice you can try using from others model. Good luck.

I have a W plate van and have had the same problem. Get the fault codes read from the ECU first. I found that the Vac pipes had been moved to install the heater and would collapse under pressure. I replaced the pipes, a lot cheaper than that solenoid which you can purchase from mazda ( I know I did ). If you can feel the solenoid pulsing then it's working.

Regarding the use of Mitsubishi solenoids



The one on the left is a Mitsubishi one, the other one was a Mitsubishi (duff), replaced it with the EGR solenoid that was defunct as the EGR was removed. The Mitsubishi ones look like they'd been they since new. Be interesting to see how many actually have Mitsubishi ones fitted.

dosen't mitsubishi manufacture electrics for other marques?maybe OE fit. just a thought

Hi people. I'm still having problems with loss of power,it would seem the EGR system is playing up which is sending a signal through the ECU to switch off the wastegate. Is there any way of disconecting the EGR system? please bear in mind it is a new shape bongo with more plugs and sensors on it than there are nuts & bolts. I have read the threads about blanking of the vac pipes on the older types but i don't think they have as many sensors as the new shape. Thanks hopefully Ian.
