Where can I buy some brushes for our Bongo's alternator?
Do all Bongo's have the same alternator?
If so what make/model is it?
Hubby's asked me to source some brushes but I don't have the alternator here to look at.

it's not a bongo but a ford friendee 1999 2wheel drive automatic.

Wash your mouth out Suechoccy

- a Bongo is a Friendee - the Ford is a Freda
Sorry, can't help with the alternator brushes but there is a database of compatible parts in the Member's Area - this should let you track down the model number of the alternator

You simply will not get them but have a look at this company..
www.startermotor-alternator.co.uk, that is where I got mine absolutely brill and very reasonable too, tel 01752 221617 or 221230, next day delivery too, worth a ring. It was £125.00 delivered.

I know it is too far away from Cambridge but I recently went to a firm on Slough Trading Estate that repair alternators and starters. I had changed the radiator, waterpump and hoses as age related maintenance and also had the alternator checked. The guy there knew it was a Bongo alternator and said he had seen several. When I went back I was told the alternator was good and the brushes didnt need changing and was charged a nominal sum for testing. Sorry I havnt got the name and telephone number handy I think it was in Plymouth Road Slough

That's just the trouble there doesn't seem to be any kits available for our alternators, I have searched and even my local alternator repairer was stumped.....unless anyone else knows better.lol.

Thanks for the replies. Hubby got one from the Plymouth place recommended by Dave Edwards. It's arrived today so he'll be busy tonight!
