Ok, I know I'm only new round here but I would like to ask the help of any of the more journeyman bongoers who might live in the Southport area and may be up for helping me get in the bongo saddle
There's one in southport for sale on ebay which I'd like to take a look at but would really appreciate it if someone could come with to advise on what I should be looking for. I'm off work on friday and would like to drive over in the morning if anyone is available. This also depends on me talking to the guy first to ask about the history and check it's available to view then.
Or is there any Bongo specialists in the area that I could pay to have a look at it for me?

Update:
he's not available on the Friday morn and I'm working all week then away on friday aft for another week so I won't be able to make it atall.
If anyone who knows owt bout bongoin would be willing to have a look for me that'd be amazing and well worth a few beers and loads of good vibes comin atcha
but no worries if not, I'm quite convinced and have a good feeling from the seller so may have a go anyway.
Thanks all!

Is it the one that seller "leven" has? Don't know the seller, but, if there are receipts for the cylinder head work, cam belt and servicing, it seems a low price for a free-top.
I'm a great believer in fate, if you've got a good feeling, maybe it's meant to be.
(Plus, at that price, there's a lot of kitty left if it
does need work!)

... but the problem with fate is that I get that "good feeling" everytime I look at a bongo!

ah, liversedge! I used to hate playing football against Liversedge, they were a right rough lot! I grew up in Emley(you know, with the mast, between wakey and hudds)

You have to be a bruiser just to survive in chickenley

, nobody ventures out at night in chick, unless theyve run out of white lightning and risk it and have nipped down to offy

It said on the radio it was 40 years ago yesterday when the mast fell down!

Wow, no way!
I've been up the current mast, one of my close friends did a media technology degree and they got to visit and go up and he very kindly blagged me on it. You get in a tiny lift that holds 6 at a proper squeeze then it takes about 8 minutes to get to the top and when the doors open the walls are about 2ft from the lift! then its up a ladder through a trapdoor and into that big round viewing gallery you can see at the top. And it moves
