hi there, i have just noticed that my lower rad hose dosnt warm up when the engine has had a good run but seems to slightly bulge with pressure. the temperature gauge dosnt seem to raise significantly to state that the engine may be overheating but the fans comes on. i have just recently replaced both matrixes as they were leaking and replaced the coolant. i think i bled the system properly but who knows. anyway, ive decided to replace the thermostat (as its only cheap and could be the problem)and then replace and rebleed the coolant again. im just wondering if anyone can recognize this problem and advise me on replacing the thermostat. it appears to be in a slightly tricky position. any advice will be greatly appreciated,
cheers adam

If you leave the engine running after a run, the bottom hose will probably be cold, but after a couple of minutes on tick over the stat should open, & the bottom hose should get warm.

hi kirsty. whats made me think something is wrong, is that after a 30 mile journey to work this morning, i noticed my fans were running. i hadnt been sitting in traffic and had actually had a clear run. i checked around the engine and found the lower hose to be cold and quite swollen. do you think that sounds normal ? that dosnt seem right to me but im no expert.
thanks adam
