Bongo Fury

What is the best Immobiliser for my Bongo?, and can anyone give me any prices. Cant afford one but cant afford not to have one fitted!

This subject was aired only two days ago. More member may now join in to tell you what type of alarm & immobilisers they have fitted to their bongos.

I’ve had the Cobra Bridge 4100 fitted, and am very pleased with it. When I activate it, it automatically locks all the doors. Also, if the vehicle is left unattended for a short period of time the immobiliser is automatically activated. It has many other useful features.

about 80 quid will buy you an alarm system to fit which has remote paging up to a mile away, imobiliser to the fuel solonoid, remote starting, remote central door locking and you can get an add on module to automatically close the windows.

i fiited one myself, didnt take too long to do. its not as good as the mannix i had on the transit tho. i could programme that one to start the engine early on a morning and turn the heaters on to warm the van up before i started work. also monitored the battery levels, if it started going flat it would start up to recharge the battery then switch off.
shame you cant get these alarms in the uk anymore or i would have put one in the bongo. the equivelent alarm in the uk would set you back 450 quid exc fitting.

I also considered fitting my own, but was told that certification would be required by an authorised installer by the insurance company if I wanted a discount on my premium. I suppose it’s a matter of weighing up what can be saved on the installation cost against the insurance discount.
With being timber technician (joiner) I paid for the installation, wires confuse me.
