Hi all, just seen a 3 possition fan switch with a red/blue slider control behind the gas bottle under the Smev burner unit on my mini mid unit , thought at first it was to do with gas ventillation but Elite conversions tell me that its part of the aircon not the conversion .as before untill I get my handbook can someone enlighten me. Still waiting for info on fuse boxes and rellay locations for non functioning central locking . cheers Colin (newbie)

That will be the rear air conditioning unit controls, normally located behind the driver. They can be moved (if the electronic variety) to somewhere in the same area, in ours its inside the cupboard divider wall below the sink/burners. You also have some control from the front A/C if electronic type, i.e. switch it on and control the outlet used but not the temperature as that's what the slider is for.

Yup you switch it on from the front, mind you strange that they didn't fit an on / off switch on the panel so that the passengers can control it themselves.

the AC switch to the left of the steering wheel has got what looks like a neon light on it ,on mine this does not illuminate, there is also a switch to the right with rear wrote on and a fan symble, neither of these seem to make the rear controller function, I have ordered my owners hanbook from Algys £20. delivery included I might then find out whats what,

Have you tried turning the round controller on the left up to 1, 2 or 3 ? The lower blanked off slider is for the different modes, I'd assume they've locked it just to blow from the upper vents?

If You have switched the 'rear' switch on to the right / lower of the steering wheel and it still doesnt work, I can only think of 2 things.
First one - on the basis that the controls have been moved and altered, its quite possible that the fitter forgot to plug in the cables before they refitted it ( should be easy to check - there is a connector block on the back of the unit with about 4 wires going in).
Secondly, not likely, but the resistor pack can blow if the motor seizes up - never heard of it in the back, but common in the front.
Kirsty is right about the lower slider - with the cupboards in place and no additional ducting it will only be the upper vents that are worth using.
