Hi Sincere apologies about the silly question - I can't find the answer by searching and I'm a mecahnical failure!
Please can any one tell me how to replace the front windscreen wiper arms? I've got the bolts off both arms but they don't seem to want to shift
Many thanks
Andy

slacken the 12ml nut and give the hinged part of the arm a thump to knock the arm off the spline

Plus a wiggle... (the arms, not your body)
Might be worth labelling them too, i couldn't work out which one went where come the time to re-fit em!

Ha Ha! Not kidding about getting them mixed up!
I took them both off my niece's Bongo for a respray, and fitted completely new blades and holders on them before refitting.
Of
course, I - unaware - fitted the wrong blades to the wrong arms.
Then, based on this c**k-up, I proceeded to fit the wrong arms to the wrong spindles.
I was SO-O-O chuffed...until I switched them on; huge area of unswept screen, plus one blade attempting to clean the top of the auto-roof
Anyways, as above - slacken the nut (hold on to the arm to prevent too much strain on the wiper mechanism), lift up the folding part of the arm and grab the arm at this elbow point.
Gently rock the arm up and down at this point (
not in the direction they wipe in, but up and down towards you) to release it from the spindle - the other hand (fingers) under the arm near the nut to prise it up. Should come off no problem.

Yep, just like me... I removed the arms to respray them, and removed the blades to replace for new whilst they were off the vehicle... That's where the confusion came in, i removed BOTH blades instead of one at once.

if possible mark the position on the spline of each wiper arm ,using tipex or something like that, saves trying to guess where to place each one when replacing.

Good point, daveblue.
Abewin, when refitting, make sure splines are engaged - push on the arm, and wobble gently to 'feel' when the spline teeth are meshing. Once you push them on firmly, they should stay in place while you do up the nuts.
