Asda Antifreeze

If anyone is running with Asda's antifreeze get the strengh tested. I mixed some 50/50 and did a protection level test.

VIRTUALLY USLESS.................... Protection to -5 at best.

I will be going into the store tomorrow or should it be Trading standards? 8) 8) 8)

Are you sure it wasn't pre-mixed already? - I've nearly been caught out by that :oops:

I tested it neat and only protects to -10. (I diluted it as needs water to give correct reading I belive)
Label just says Asda Antifreeze.

Thanks, I'll be sure to avoid that stuff when I change my coolant.

A friend told me Morrisons antifreeze is cheaper than he can buy trade - I now suspect similar results :(

Nope, Claims it conforms with BS6580 1992. That has a max water content of 5% :roll:

I bet they didn't bank on a customer actually testing it for strength! :lol: I shall continue to buy asda's scotch eggs though... They are very nearly average. :?

I must say I prefer Morrisons Scotch eggs myself............can't comment on the Anti Freeze.......

I don't really eat Scotch Eggs. Can't justify a tank of diesel or more to go and get me some. Eat Cheshire eggs instead. :lol:
