as title says bad vibrations through steering at 55 -75mph BUT not all the time

i have had my front droplinks changed AGAIN but used the heavy duty ones this time , i have had my balancing checked garage says ok , have had front anti roll bar bushes checked ,garage says ok have changed my front pads still the same

can somebody please help as its doin my bleedin head in

Tracking? & how was it balanced? seem to remember this being an issue as to whether they're balanced on the studs or the centre?

was balanced at wheelquick so i know this is ok
i will have tracking checked this week i think

try swaping the front wheels for each other my shake got fixed by new tyres but swapping them has worked for some

i will have to put front on rear and rear on front as directional

are the rear wheels balanced as well as the front. and are all the spigot rings fitted on all the hubs.

Have you been doing handbrake turns recently

stew @ wheelquick balanced all 4 wheels no spriggot rings as mike said dont need them for these wheels

You've Been Bongod, I don't think worn drop links or a-r bushes would cause this anyway.

Bad vibes through the steering wheel tend to be caused by loose wheel bearings, worn steering joints, worn suspension ball joints and, most commonly, imbalanced wheel/tyres.

Everything apart from the last should be picked up during an MOT or similar inspection.

Swapping the front with the rears should be interesting, provided the rears have been balanced as well. Even if they haven't, the 'effect' should be different - stronger/weaker vibes, shaking at a different road speed, etc. which should still give a useful indication if it's the wheels which are to blame.

It has been known for 'faulty' tyres to cause this - poorly moulded or with flaws so that they cause a peculiar type of imbalance. Also if they're damaged in any way - look for odd bulges, etc.

Just out of interest YBB is yours 2WD or 4WD? If 4WD, could it have any bearing (no pun intended!)

Quick rule of thumb for wheels needing balancing:
55mph shake = front wheels.
70mph shake = rear wheels.

Are the tyres round?
