Hi,
I'm after some photos of a roof rack
the details I need are from the type that has one section bolted to the roof and a set of legs on the gutter, they are then uncliped so the roof can be raised.
I'm able to fabricate a copy when I can get some details of how the legs are clipped when the roof is down.

Whereabout are you? You're welcome to come & have a look at mine. I've modified it now by removing the main basket & fitted some cross bars which can be used for kayaks or a roof box. The main rack bolts to the roof with M8 (?) bolts - don't make them too long, or do up to tight. The 'legs' go down & rest on some stainless steel 'feet' which clamp on to the gutter. When the roof is down, the weight is spread to the gutters & a knurled knob is used to clamp it all together. The one thing to be very careful about is getting the alignment correct so you don't put any strain on the threaded inserts in the roof. I'd suggest getting the legs right first & then fine-tuning the bolts in the roof. Note from the pictures that the front set of legs are set further back than the mounting points in the roof. The proper rack has the black metal rails that run front to back & these take care of this offset. Finally, try to keep it lightweight or you'll have trouble opening the roof even with the rack unloaded. The rack in the picture is very heavy even though it is mainly made of aluminium & the roof does struggle to lift.
