I am thinking of changing the cooling hoses am I as well to change them all for peace of mind? also when the hoses are off am I as well to change the thermostat and water pump? I have not got a low cooling alarm but thinking of getting one.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Welcome Mr Ice. Personally, I'd put the low coolant alarm at the top of my list and just inspect and make a judgement about the hoses, only changing those that looked suspect. The alarm should provide insurance against mis-judgement. I took that line 2yrs ago and so far all is quiet on the plumbing (and alarm) front [-o<

You could not do better than replace your original coolant hoses with a set of Flippa's silicone hoses. I have the original thirteen of his hoses fitted to my Bongo and the last five which are now available to complete the set in my possession. Just waiting for Wheelquick to find the time again. The peace of mind is great.

If you are intrested in Flippa's Silicone hoses he has an ebay shop. Alternatively you can PM him from this site, he gives a small discount to Bongo Fury members.

Welcome to the forum, any chance of you joining some Scottish members at Bridge of Orchy this weekend. Detail are in the Scotland Section.

Thanks for your replies . As for hoses I think that I will change the bigger ones and probably change the thermostat and water pump for peace of mind as if I don't will just spend my money on beer!

As for Glen Orchy I was waiting to see what the weather is doing as it has changed so much in the last couple of days - if weather not too bad I'll be there.

I like your thinking. Better your way round than gasping for a beer only to dash out the house and find the Bongo has sprung a large bill and mugs you for your beer money

Mike at Wheelquick says there are 4 hoses that are almost always the ones that go (not sure which but daresay flippa can advise - remember flippa's hoses are silicone ones, which is great but you have to fit them using quality, not sharp edged, jubilee clips and check carefully they have seated and are not leaking around the clip area I believe)
