i took my bongo down to work on friday to let one of the mechanics fit the new centre section of the exhaust and to change the 2 alternator belts and the air con belt, before leaving i asked him if he could checkout the strange squeeking noise that had appeared to be coming from the rear drivers side wheel, he called me today to say the all the work was done but before taking it off the ramps he would like to show me the problem that he had found,

this had broken
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... :IT&ih=016

not just split it had ripped itself apart, i couldn't believe what i was seeing ( pics to follow ) i have now ordered a complete set for the rear ( both sides ) inc bushes and they will be fitted on tuesday.

has anyone else had any trouble with these ?

Yup, just been discussed - again http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... ts&start=0 get some wd40 or penetrating oil soaking in on the nuts in preparation. It'll be a much nicer drive once they're done.
I'll reitterate what I've said before, if you're changing the bushes, change the brackets if they haven't already been changed - even if there's no sign of breakage or damage.

Kirsty (MissFixit) for one, and ?BigDaddy for another. Draw a line under it, then ignore the line as it won't fix it, fix it, then move on

....who nipped in and posted while I was typing this!

........and tighten up ALL the mountings with the vehicle at it's natural height - not suspended.
