Front fog lamp wiring

Does anyone know if the front foglamp wiring is already in the Bongo - is it just a case fitting a switch and plug and play? I picked up a bumper and set of lamps recently.

Its not in our V6, I was looking underneath just a couple of days ago for the same reason as I had noted that there are wiring looms available on Ebay which I thought a little odd if they were all fitted. Some one also mentioned that theirs was actually relay switched - I must get the diagrams out and see what they say...

It is not in mine either . It would appear to me that some top spec Bongos originally had them installed only to have them nicked. Others like mine never had the them.

Sorry Dandy, I've no idea as mine came with them. :P

Just today, I replaced a duff lamp on mine, after undoing three screws on the back, which was not needed, as you just have to turn the complete back plate anticlockwise a little touch. ( Could not find any details on here on how to replace lamps in the original fog lights. :? )

Oh and I paid £5.26 for the lamp (H3) at a local filling station, :( and need to put some lense cover tape on the......well......Lense. as I have a wee hole, and a crack on it.

Ah ha yes the Fact sheet confirms - some seem to have the wiring loom others don't, also yes a 30Amp relay is needed the factsheet is "Fitting ‘aftermarket’
front fog lights".

Seems I will have to put my Auto Electricians hat on and get some bits in - Anyone bought from these people VEHICLE WIRING PRODUCTS LTD. they seem to have a good range available :?:

Bought a few bits from them, seem ok quality, about the cheapest I could find for fuse holders & stuff that I wanted.

I have a set of the Ring square ones waiting to be mounted when I get around to it, just want to fit them because here in the top of the valley we get more than our fair share of fog, lol.

I certainly could not find the front fog wiring on my loom, so I had to run the cabling.
It would appear that there are different looms and not just a generic one :( . But having said that the loom on mine had been attacked #-o before I bought it (rear fog light fitting) so it may have been there and butchered [-X .

As for Vehicle Wiring Products. I can recommend them as their stuff is good quality at a good price. Bought loads off them and not been disappointed so far! Just make sure you get all you need in one order, as postage on one small item makes you buy more so you do not feel seen off

If this is any help to you Dandy.. There should be a connector block behind the right hand side top switch bank & in the engine bay should be the set up for a 15amp fuse for the front fogs.
Where the relay is i don't know.
Logic would say if the blocks there then so should the loom..?

Thanks Kirsty and Tony, I'll give them ago. I've been saving up a few jobs since last year and now is the time to tackle them as it won't be long till.

I suspect that the wiring loom maybe part fitted like the connector for the switches and hopefully the other end that would lead to the relay is there, but that the wiring from the relay to the lamps is missing unless the option is ordered.

I'd a half hour this afternoon before light faded - here's what I found:

The connector block behind the blanks on the righthand side are for the foglamps - there's 2 live feeds when the sidelights are on - thanks jaylee :)

The 2 wire connector below the main battery (taped to the o/s headlamp wires on mine, the red/purple is battery voltage at all times but only if a fuse is put into plot 10 under the bonnet fuse box - I'm assuming it's a feed for the relay - haven't found out what it's neighbour does (red) I'll check for a realy on the nearside tomorrow and hopefully sort out the full system - looks like I'll only need to make a short loom to go to the lamps :D

Don't see a relay on the nearside - unless it's under the L/B tray - I don't remember seeing one when I put it there.
Got a switch out of a 626 today so I'll probably take a feed off the red wire from that, take a feed off the red/purple which is fed from number 10 fuse and put them on a relay - then feed the lamps from the relay - unless someone can show me where the relay should be................................... :D

Checked mine today, no Fog lamp relay fitted should be in front of the three labelled below;
Image
There fitted as two pairs on brackets but only fitted as required mine has the spare bracket position at the very front.

Thanks Geoff - no such relays on my diesel :( - Does anyone know what the 6 relays (2 rows of 3 each) behind the o/s headlight do? - just incase one of them is for the front foglamps and before I splice into the wiring for a feed.
Cheers.
