Chugging as Temp Gauge Rises V6

Had a chugging start last 2 weeks. Have not fully investigated as busy and only done short journeys so by the time it has warmed up I am home. It seems that as Temp gauge starts to rise to 11 oclock where it stays a chugging begins. It is constant at tickover but goes or can't be heard as revs increased.

I checked forum and thought maybe power steering but Bongo says no.

So any ideas on where to investigate please. Waterpump, perhaps? What kicks in as temp gauge moves to 11?

There is a slight oil leak of a drip a day not investigated but I believe this to be not connected.

Thanks

Thanks Dolly I will bear that in mind when investigation takes place.

The noise seems to be more like a belt. This would have to be one that does not start until temp gauge starts to move to 11. Am I barking up the wrong tree?
