Couldn't tell you exactly but most work fairly well.

Maplin currently have a sale on and have a 4 sensor system for under £30 as an alternative.

We've that type of parking sensor on our Spacewagon (for sale) and its a little too sensitive to rough and wet roads and verges than we would prefer. The standard Ultrasonic type gives much better performance and is less critical about the odd bump it would seem. We find a camera is the best answer however as the eye has a lot more power behind it!

Sensors with an adjustable sensitivity are a good idea, when mine are switched to the high sensitivity setting they pick up on those thick white lines with lots of layers of paint on em...lolly sticks....and chewing gum stuck on the floor!

Interesting sensor. I wonder if it could be adapted to make an all round proximity sensor to beep and warn people off when they get too close. Maybe attached to an alarm?

The only drawback to such alarm sytems that make audible beeps, or give spoken warnings, is that it makes the vehicle a prime target for kicks from kids wanting to antagonize people, or indeed a disgruntled neighbour may just take out his frustrations on your beloved bongo should he pass it on a "bad day" when its beeping at him to keep away, or warning him to stay clear of the vehicle!

(i know a bunch of nice people don't i? )

You can choose the colour nearest for your Bongo bumper.

I got grey, and it really matches well considering. I ordered them on the 5th Jan at 3:30 pmm, and they came this morning!

They took me approx. 5 hrs to fit. I'll post some pictures soon. I was thankful for the towbar factsheet on removing the rear bumper. I couldn't believe the nuts were still shiny!

The Maplin ones have a nifty read out proximity display. More gadget for your money

For future reference you really don't need to take the bumper off a Bongo to fit reverse sensors.

I fitted a set of Scorpions to mine (I'm a Scorpion dealer although only really do Phone kits for a living) and fitted mine, 4 sensors and a display in 45 minutes

I took the bumper off as I didn't really want to 'scraffle' underneath the Bongo for even 45 minutes!

I like to take my time over these things and not make a hash job. I particularly liked the fact that they were colour coded already.

As for a display, I can't personally see what the point is, but each to their own.

The buzzer on this system is loud enough to hear even when its intsalled inside the rear right of the Bongo trim!

I must admit that on my Transit I've just got a buzzer, I'd been offered a kit with a display and thought I'd try it out, not sure if I'd bother again!

Get them pictures on here mate, it sounds like you've made a good job of this and I'm interested to see how they look (yup mine are black in a silver bumper)
