Hi Ho all,
Well being a good bongo owner today i decided to check my oil and top up. She didnt need much but I like to spoil her. Anyway Im pretty sure i put the cap back on and drove for 1hr 15 mins no probs, no smells. Drove hte same amount coming home and when i stopped there was an almighty smell of oil! Anyway long and short of it is I have lost my oil cap. Im sure i put it on and maybe not screwed it on properly who knows, maybe i didnt put it back on at all. I will have a good search around tomorrow in the light but if i cant find it do any others fit the bongo? I need one as im traveling to see family over xmas. Didnt lose much oil though the engine is now a different colour!
Thanks all yet again,
Rams.

OOOOOH! Very likely you didn't replace it at all - surprisingly easy to forget (bet that helps, eh?!)
Ok, there's a
reasonable chance it's sitting in the engine under-panel tray thingy. You could try reaching in from the front and the back, but it may have to come off to check properly. This can be done without raising the car; make yourself comfy on a mat, and be prepared to be lying under your car for a good half hour. You'll need a 10mm socket with extension bar.
Fingers crossed.
(If not found, try a search on eBay for 'Bongo' 'parts' 'breaking' etc and email everyone you find. Good chance that, unless their engines are knackered, they'll want to hang on to the cap tho'

)

The Mazda 323 and 626 caps of the same age fit.

Not too pricey at Bongobits: £10.03. Might be worth a trip 'over the border'
