Wife shopping, me sat in Bongo with a coffee reading Motorcycle News, heater on. Hear a " pop ". Cloud of steam. Switch off. Hose split. Rang RAC. Phoned Ian, who was walking the dogs. He gave me AVA,s number who will have said hose at mine by noon tomorrow. Bongo home on a trailer and mechanic to fit on Monday. Great service all round. Thanks Ian.

If you never do anything else...Make sure the garage know how to bleed the air out of the cooling system after they have fitted the hose. All garages think they know....few actually do know...THIS IS SO IMPORTANT..
Also check all other hoses...Did the temp gauge go up when the hose Popped ??

Hi Haydn, Yes thanks, I,ve bled the system as per the info sheet before. The temp gauge was on a third till the hose blew and I turned the engine off straight away. Had a new rad and a small hose replaced before followed by bleeding.

Hi Ian, It was the large hose under the drivers side that comes from the block and forward under the dash towards the rad ( I think ). AVA knew which one it was straight away. Had a 2 inch split so didn,t take much finding.
