Bongo Fury

Still trying to get hold of a Throttle Position Sensor. Does anyone know the Mazda part number for the blessed thing.

I have confirmed that the Bosch part listed on the Parts Compatible Database is the right Bosch part number but it cannot be supplied by a Bosch after-market reseller as it is Mazda / Dealer only. I have tried the Mazda dealer and although they can identify the part by picture they quoted me £2300 for the entire pump and sensor. Cheaper to go to Japan by plane and buy one!

Would a scrappie be able to let you go along and remove one for purchase off a breaking Bongo. Might get you by for now at least

Already on the case seems the only solution. I can then see if I can find a company to refurb the original one.

Hi this was from CORBLIMEY in the compatable section,it might help you.

I'm told the throttle position senor from an Isuzu Trooper (don't know which model) is the same as the auto Bongo. Unfortunately the loom connectors are not compatible so it would need to be patched in to the bongo loom.

The correct Mazda fit TPS is manufactured by Zexel (Bosch) and their part # is 146684-6621. The equivalent Bosch part # is 9 461 619 201

Well the extreemly good news is I now have my hands on one brand spanking new TPS from the very nice man at Autolink
/ Boundville. I am very happy and will be even happier when I fit it. Not cheap not much change out of £200 the price has gone up due to the crashing exchange rate!

For what its worth markski, the tps isn't overhaulable - I tried to open it up but it seems to be injection moulded in one piece or very strong glue it ended up cracking but I did manage to see the worn part of the track - I'll post a pic soon.

That would be interesting as I can compare my old TPS when I get it out. If you don't mind I may get in touch with you for some advice on the TPS changeover. I recall you said it was quite easy but even so I am a DIY beginner (learning fast). The location is a bit awkward as my drivers seat won't fold all the way back due to the side conversion.

Out of interest when I undo the two screws what will I find?

PS probably won't get it done this side of New Year. As you may tell from my sign-in name Mark "Ski" I am off skiing over the New Year, fortunately only taking the Bongo to the airport not the Alps. Alps trip in February so need to get the TPS fixed in January.

Thanks for the photos. I have now replaced the TPS and the Bongo is working like a dream. A pleasure to drive once again.
