midlands day meet?

Re: midlands day meet?
hi all,,,,,ive only done stourport, so a day meet would be nice...how about this place
http://www.bosworthwatertrust.co.uk/cms ... ?area=Home
2 pounds to get in, massive parking areas, if its a nice day you can park around the water, its got a restaurant, bar toilets etc...
play area for the kids
take a look at the internet site....
packed in the summer with campers etc, loads of leccy hook ups....
i bet my last pound some of you will return in the summer for camping
theres an old local town 5 mins down the road
old pubs etc,, for lunch
to give some peeps an idea of distance..........it takes me 25 mins to get there (and no not the reason for my suggestion ) from my house in leicester,,,,and to go to east mids airport in 35 mins ( my house)...
so not too far from most
would be a nice break this sunday if any one is interested
OR if you want to treat the kids etc or maybe your selves,, this place is 10 mins from bosworth water
http://www.tropicalbirdland.com/OUR-GAR ... TTRACTIONS
a verrrrry big car park and open all year round.....never busy this time of year......you will not be dissapointed.....big parrots sitting on your shoulders, feed them , pet them...all the birds fly free,,,,and they are big.
anyway a couple of suggestions

Good suggestions. I love anything to do with animals so i'd be up for that. As far as i know we are also free on sunday. Is that too soon for everyone else?

Re: midlands day meet?
If this weekend is too short notice for people, what about a day between Christmas & New Year, most people will be off work and could bring some turkey butties & mince pies.
Any excuse to get out of the house and away for the day!

hi,
whenever`s best for most folk?one sunday perhaps?i did actually wonder whether it`d be feasible to find a campsite and do a saturday night stay, but if not,a sunday meet would be great.this sunday looks a bit chilly, and we are busy anyway, but any suggestions after that?
thanks

I'll see what I can find out and get back to you. I am about 30 miles from suggested area, but no problem to check it out. Stratford to stay over or stratford or bidford for day ? Or shall I try and check both ? Picnic or book lunch party? When? So many questions, but I haven't been on a daymeet! Can't wait to see bob's Toy (panda I mean)
Cheers Anna.

I have been to Bosworth a few times, but be warned it is very muddy this time of the year. Good fishing and pirate ship thing for the kids.
Cheers Anna

Re: midlands day meet?
hi anna
if not bosworth, lets try the paridise parrot park,,, plenty of room for a dozen bongo,s to park...the park itself is normally empty this time of year
they open to public all year round
only 10 mins from bosworth
everyone will love the birds inside
never ceases to make me smile every time i go

Hi Andy,
I checked out birdland for you-
1. No dogs allowed
2. Open 10.30 until 3pm
3. Totally outdoors
4. Cafe open Sat Sun
I have never been, so can't tell if suited
However on negotiations -
£1 off cost of £6 adults £4 kids £4 oap
We can use the paddock for parking, dog exercise and picnic if req'd
They said it does not take long to walk round birds.
That's all the info on that suggestion
Cheers Anna

Depenant on how many children some may be interested in Bungo Barn. You can even have a full party for adults and kids
http://www.bungos-playbarn.co.uk/details.html
Otherwise the Bidford riverside park where you can picnic walk etc. I am checking it out.
Cheers Anna

Hi Shazza,
I also have a dog and this needs consideration. If those interested could give details of how many adults, kids, dogs and also dates that wouldn't suit, Whether you want to stay over etc ,it would make selection easier. Then we can get it booked and go. I cant do weekend 6th dec
cheers Anna

Re: midlands day meet?
We are free most Sundays. It would only be 2 adults, no kids, no pets! Only a day visitor though as it's too cold to camp out.
