ignition switch

My ignition switch appears to be on it's way out, I have to insert the key and wiggle it to get the switch to turn. (sometimes 10 mins or more) when it turns it seems ok. I've tried a spare key cut last year thinking the original may be worn, this is exactly the same. Is it an easy job to change the ignition switch? anyone got any good ideas on where to get one from?
Any suggestions most welcome,
Thanks

There is a mechanical link to the gear selector, so you can only remove the key in Park, so may be worth gently juggling the gear shift as you try and turn the key.

I've had similar experiences in other cars - moving the steering wheel usually fixed it

Something to do with the steering lock pressing against the ignition barrel (or something like that

)

Francophile could be right.
My partner has a Micra with a keyless system & even that jams with the steering lock on.
(Though you foot also has to be on the brake at the same time as turning the switch.)
The ignition barrel can jam with the steering lock, normally there's a bit of play in the wheel if you turn it to the right while turning the key in the ignition, that should release it.
I use the same principle with the Morphy Richards kitchen appliance inspired Micra as i do with normal key ignition systems.. Never fails..
