How many beeps for (sorry!) coolant alarm

Always a bit apprehensive when I make a post about the coolant alarm! Anyway, here goes...
I've just installed mine, and I think its working OK. The only trouble I had was trying to splice the cable to the front wiper cable behind the fuse box. I didn't have much cable to play with where I snipped it. I get a strangled beep and flash when I switch on the ignition, and another when I turn the engine over. Should I be getting it on both occasions? Just want to be sure I've done it right. I'm sure the answer is in a thread somewhere, but there's a lot of posts on the coolant alarm to plough through, and I'm lazy.

sound's ok to me , some give two beeps others only one. have you tested it by pulling the bullet connector apart, if it goes off then your ok.

Thanks, that's reassuring. I've tested pulling off the bullet connector and it screams at me, so it seems to be working OK. I was just a bit concerned that it beeped that second time when turning the engine (I was convinced I'd b*gger something up when messing around with the fuse box, so I was probably looking for a problem)

Hi...I can categorically state ...that 2 beeps are fine....2nd beep caused by the starter dragging so much current the alarm thinks the ignition has been switched off/on again.
On the alarm subject....just to keep you up to date with progress....I have been accused of just sitting back and not trying to improve the product.
Once the currant stock of Mk 1's (only a couple left) are gone. The next batch will only have ONE sensor to be fitted to the expansion tank. This has been acheived by developing the module and making it more sensitive. In EVERY other respect the alarm is exactly the same as before.
The Mk 2 & 3's will have the 2 sensors with no changes.(we are working on it)
I have also got the agreement in principal from both TM-2 & EngineSaver, to bring the two systems together into one single unit (all within the TM-2 housing). I'm hoping to be able to provide this at a much better price then buying the two systems separately.I will have the prototype ready in 2 weeks and production will commence the day after.
Both systems will of course continue to be available separately.
Lastly...BMW clocks can be provided with one or both alarms incorperated into the "cubby" space. All colours of glow and white dials if thats your thing.
All this can be viewed at the site below ...BUT...Forum members can contact me direct for the normal forum discount.
