Speedo not working and hold light flashing .
Hi Everybody, A new Bongo owner in Lowestoft Suffolk. On starting my Bongo in the Park position I find the speedo will not work and the hold light flashes . If I stop the vehicle switch off and restart in the Neutral position everythings seems ok. Any thoughts? David

could be a bad connection on the back of the speedo or a chip playing up amongst other things
Is yours chipped mph reading to 180 mph but no kmh?
Or a face plate odometer reading in km still?

check the back of the speedo see if the 4 screws are tight if thats not it then remove the chip and test it.
if its ok without the chip you know the problem

if you have lost a screw let me know, I'm sure I can find one for you

Mine does this about once every 6 months. I believe it is the chip in the speedo. Too lazy to fix so I just restart the engine and the problem goes away. Don't believe it is an issue unless it really really annoys you.

It can be an issue when it wont go away, when I first had my bongo the hold light was on, in turn the front tyres were worn to a funny pattern, sort of ridges across the tread, removing the chip cured the problem of the hold light, 2 new tyres and after 2500 miles no more problems, to alter the speedo I bought a new face off e-bay, under £6 so a true bargain fix.Griffin wrote:Mine does this about once every 6 months.
