I have a member who is trying to replace the seals on his steering rack and has hit a problem

Steering rack is removed and 2 of the seals are off but the other 2 won't budge

Any one replaced their seals and can give a blow by blow discription please.
Their location is St Austell

His bongo has been on axel stands for too long and needs a good work out

Since the rack has been removed it might be worth taking it up to Allan's, Plymouth.

OK it is done, we had drill two little holes in top of inside seal and screw in small sefl tappers to pull one seal out the other internal seal involved taking the whole rack to bits to get it out bit of a tricky one but achievable.

Sounds to me like you still have a problem :( , the boots shouldn't be part of the system as such, they are just there to keep the crap out.

Is the power steering fluid level going down? As Kirsty says, the boots are only to keep dirt out. I hope you haven't fitted the seals the wrong way round (if that's at all possible :? )

Most power steering systems are self bleeding, i.e. you simply lock the wheel over from left to right a few times to pressure up and force out unwanted air.
