my drivers window switch did not work. I bought a new one. most of the time it still does not work. sometimes it works,but as soon as I put indicator on or touch brake pedal it stops working.passenger side window works fine.
can anybody help please.

sounds like a bad earthor connection some where
the loom between the door and body on the drivers side is a known problem area try wiggling them and see.

I've just been dealing with this problem (well something similar). Is the replacement switch brand new? If not, then I do wonder if dirt on the switch contacts can play a significant part in slowness of operation. It seemed that way in my case.

I was able to dismantle a switch to the point of being able to clean the passenger side switch contacts contained inside the slider unit that the rocker switch operates. Cleaning the contacts up with a sharp modelling knife by scraping off dirt/oxide improved the passenger window from simply 'clicking' but not moving when the switch was operated, through to good positive action.

The drivers window slider unit looked trickier to prise open as access is obstructed by the passenger window slider unit. But I would imagine similar treatment would produce a similar result if you can get it open.

If you do take a switch apart, be careful the small ball bearing and spring that is part of the On/Off passenger window over-ride switch do not fly out and get lost. I did the job inside a large plastic tub just in case. I also found that the best way was to prise the On/Off rocker switch lever of its pivot so the main switch could be withdrawn without the ball bearing etc being dragged out. You will have to do this otherwise you can't reassemble it anyway. I use watchmakers screwdrivers to prise each side off the pivot (all these things are tricky if you can't hold both sides prise off their retaining lugs at the same time).

Tricky to describe all this in words but hope it makes sense if/when you tackle the job.
