Running UK appliances from Japenese Electrical Sockets

I have just bought a Bongo which the electrical sockets and hook up are Japenese and run at a different voltage (100v I think). I know I can buy an adapter plug but am concerned about the voltage difference. Ultimately I have updating the conversion so will get it all permanently changed then but in the interim any advice would be greatly appreciated

Welcome to the madhouse
- don't forget to put your location in your profile, as it really helps us to help you.
You can get adaptors, but you'd also need a transformer to put the voltage up to 230v. Probably better to rewire the whole thing to UK specification.

Yes, I was thinking of using our appliances in Japan
. However, I don't know if the 100v wiring is adequate for this country's voltage - I would still recommend rewiring it.

Hi Geggsie,
Rewiring wont solve any thing,you will have to use a step down transformer from 240v ac to 110v,if the appliances are 110v.

Geggsie, if you not going to the expense of having your kitchen cube converted all you need to do is get one of these

to put in your awning and run what you like from it including a 110 transformer to run power into your van. I`ve done just that for nearly 4 years no problem
